Head of Risk Engineering (m/f/d)
Main tasks
- Provision of risk engineering services in accordance with the requirements of the commissioning business units.
- Professional and disciplinary leadership as well as personnel development of risk engineers.
- Further development and promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Deployment planning of risk engineers, including the creation of an annual inspection schedule in close cooperation with underwriting.
- Proactive exchange with underwriting and claims regarding current technical developments and initiation of necessary measures.
- Representation of risk engineering both internally and externally.
- Participation in strategy development including resource planning.
- Identification of relevant trends and optimization of business processes.
- Proactive exchange with relevant stakeholders.
- Contribution to the design of the future market presence of risk engineering in Germany in coordination with the group headquarters.
- Leadership and participation in projects.
Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software
- You have successfully completed a degree, ideally in an engineering-related field.
- You bring several years of professional experience in an engineering role, underwriting, or risk engineering.
- You have a strong passion for technical contexts and developments.
- You have leadership experience and know how to guide a team both professionally and disciplinarily.
- You possess solid knowledge of project management.
- You are confident in using MS 365 and other relevant tools.
- You have German language skills at a minimum of C1 level and a good command of English (at least B1).

You will become part of a dedicated team of ten colleagues responsible for risk engineering in Germany. Together, you contribute to identifying technical risks and delivering sound assessments.
Your first year with us:
- 0-3 months: You will get to know the organization, make initial contacts and familiarize yourself with your tasks as part of your onboarding. A buddy will be available to you regularly during this time. At this time you will also have your first meeting with the HR department so that any questions or organizational matters can be clarified.
- 4-6 months: You become more and more familiar with your role and have completed the majority of your onboarding. Your buddy will also support you during this time. The second interview with HR is due.
- 7-12 months: You have all the information and tools you need to carry out your tasks confidently and independently.
