Senior Claims Expert Property/Engineering (m/f/d)
Main tasks
- End-to-end handling, management, and settlement of Business Interruption, Property, and all Engineering Insurance claims within the scope of established guidelines and delegated authority:
- Investigate claims, including loss assessments/site inspections and review of loss adjusters' reports.
- Analyze, assess, and present coverage and liability positions.
- Develop appropriate and commercially sound resolution strategies.
- Conduct international claims settlement negotiations.
- Initiate and manage international recovery actions (subrogation claims).
- Oversee and monitor international litigation proceedings.
- Support the Team Lead Claims Property/Engineering.
- Act as a subject matter expert and technical point of contact for other Claims Property/Engineering team members.
- Maintain structured and transparent claims documentation and records management.
- Prepare and process claims settlements within co-insurance and reinsurance arrangements.
- Support process analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct claims audits.
- Assist with loss mitigation and loss prevention measures.
- Assess risks relating to claims development trends and claim frequency.
- Prepare claims-related reports and management information.
- Analyze, prepare, communicate, and present claims statistics and claims-related topics.
- Organize workshops with claims service providers and underwriting stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties and special assignments, such as project work and the development or maintenance of claims handling procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure claims are handled properly and in compliance with applicable guidelines, authorities, and service standards within the Property and Engineering lines of business, including timely and accurate claims management and appropriate support for policyholders.
- Ensure the proper execution of operational processes and controls.
Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software
- You have successfully completed an university degree.
- Thanks to your solid knowledge of international commercial insurance, you are confident working in a complex and demanding environment.
- Project management, structured ways of working, and managing complex processes are among your strengths.
- You stand out through your strong customer focus, negotiation skills, and excellent communication abilities.
- As a team player, you act with reliability, accountability, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- You bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an interest in sustainable solutions.
- In interactions with clients, brokers, and business partners, you present yourself with confidence and professionalism.
- Excellent German language skills (C1), good English language skills (B2), and proficiency in Microsoft 365 complete your profile.
