Underwriting Assistant (Specialist)(m/f/d)
Job Description
• Manage the day-to-day service and support of both existing and new clients.
• Regularly liaise with and support brokers, providing both technical and operational assistance.
• Demonstrate advanced reinsurance knowledge, with the ability to manage and interpret RI slips, and solid experience in facultative structures.
• Handle coinsurance policies, acting on both a leading and following basis.
• Issue and manage policy documentation, including wordings, certificates, endorsements, debit notes, payment bordereaux, etc., which are a core responsibility of the role.
• Work closely with the Underwriting Team, supporting underwriters throughout the entire process, from receipt of the submission to issuance of the binding order.
• Possess strong knowledge and experience in Global International Programs, which is a key requirement for the position.
• Issue and manage Global International Programs fluently, including programs with local integrated policies.
• Issue local policies and related documentation through both owned networks and fronting partners.
• Use and manage tools focused on the instruction and coordination of Global International Programs.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance Team to prevent inconsistencies and improve the efficiency of the cash-matching process.
• Provide operational support to the Claims Team when required (e.g. policy numbers, risk locations, MSIG net retention).
• Contribute to the further development and optimization of existing operational processes.
• Proactively drive continuous operational improvements.
Qualification
• Minimum of eight years’ experience in a similar role.
• Solid knowledge of the Property line of business is mandatory; experience across multiple lines of business is considered a strong advantage.
• Broad experience in the insurance industry, with a good understanding of the full insurance policy lifecycle, ideally gained in an operational or project-based role.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Strong (re)insurance technical skills.
• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with policy administration systems.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management abilities.
• Strong team player, able to take on additional workload during peak renewal periods.
• Used to working under pressure.
• Advanced Excel user.
