Underwriter Property (m/f/d)
Main tasks
- Perform profitable underwriting in line with underwriting guidelines and delegated authorities, including:
- Underwrite new risks and develop and renew the existing portfolio.
- Participate in risk surveys and follow up on risk improvement measures.
- Conduct risk analyses, calculate technical premiums, and determine appropriate pricing.
- Prepare and negotiate quotations, accept applications, and coordinate underwriting documentation.
- Monitor the portfolio to ensure it meets profitability and business objectives.
- Arrange and manage facultative reinsurance capacity based on business requirements.
- Review and negotiate policy wordings with brokers and the Corporate Center.
- Prepare and coordinate underwriting decisions beyond delegated underwriting authority.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the underwriting strategy by monitoring market, technical, and economic developments.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, tied agents, and industrial clients.
- Collaborate with the sales organization and other underwriting lines through broker and client events, customer visits, and cross-selling activities.
- Support special assignments and project-related tasks.
Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software
- Degree in Business Administration, preferably with a specialization in Insurance, a degree in Engineering, or completed vocational training as an Insurance Specialist (m/f/d) with an additional qualification as a Technical Underwriter for Commercial and Industrial Property Insurance (DVA).
- Experience and expertise in industrial property insurance and international insurance programs.
- Experience working with brokers and tied agents in the field of industrial property insurance.
- High level of self-motivation and resilience.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with sound decision-making skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
