Business Analyst Insurance (m/f/d)

Main tasks

  • Support process improvements for business units through increased automation and digitization: You’ll work on analyzing existing processes and identifying opportunities for automation and digitization. This can enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand business requirements and translate them into clear and understandable user stories and technical specifications for the development team: You’ll act as a bridge between business units and the development team. Your role involves understanding business requirements and translating them into well-defined user stories and technical specifications.
  • Create presentations using PowerPoint: You’ll prepare presentations to communicate your work results. PowerPoint is a common tool for visual presentations.
  • Manage tasks and track progress using Jira: Jira is a popular project management software. You’ll handle task management, track progress, and ensure all team members stay on the right track.
  • Apply agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban: Agile project management allows teams to be flexible and work iteratively. You’ll use Scrum or Kanban to organize work efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to implement requirements iteratively and incrementally: You’ll work closely with developers to implement requirements step by step. This allows for early feedback and adjustments.
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and any other necessary coordination meetings: These meetings are crucial communication and coordination points in agile project management. Your active participation ensures project success.
  • Work closely with other teams to create synergies and enhance efficiency: You’ll collaborate not only with the development team but also with other teams. The goal is to leverage synergies and improve overall efficiency.

Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software

  • Completed degree in (Business) Informatics, Insurance, Mathematics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Several years of professional experience in the international insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of the value chain and essential transactions of an insurer (non-life insurance, ideally with experience in industrial insurance).
  • Familiarity with VAIT (Verordnung über die Aufsicht von IT-Governance und IT-Risikomanagement) and DORA (Data Operations and Reporting Application).
  • Experience with agile project management methods.
  • Strong communication skills at all hierarchical levels.
  • Confident demeanor, creativity, and initiative.
  • Fluent in German and English (both spoken and written); additional languages are advantageous (e.g., French).
  • Willingness to travel (less than 5%).

The department you would be enriching is called Operations & Data and consists of 15 employees. This department, located in the Corporate Center, is responsible for efficient and smooth business process execution.

Your first year with us:
  • 0-3 months: You’ll get to know the organization, establish initial contacts, and familiarize yourself with your tasks during the onboarding process. A buddy will be available to assist you during this time. Additionally, you’ll have your first conversation with HR to address any questions or organizational matters.
  • 4-6 months: You’ll continue to settle into your role and complete the majority of your onboarding. Your buddy will continue to support you, and you’ll have a second conversation with HR.
  • 7-12 months: By this point, you’ll have all the necessary information and tools to confidently and independently tackle your responsibilities.
