Claims Specialist Marine (m/f/d)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for at the earliest possible date for our Region Germany at our location in Cologne:

Comprehensive Marine Claims Management (processing and settling of claims) for an internationally active industrial insurer, according to the existing policies and claims authority limits:
- Establishing the facts including loss inspection and review of loss reports
- Examination, evaluation and representation of coverage and liability situation
- Development of appropriate claim resolution
- International settlement negotiations
- Initiation and conduct of international recoveries / subrogation claims
- Guidance and monitoring of international claims related court proceedings
Production and processing of statements of account in co-insurance and re-insurance business.
Auditing of recovery agents.
Evaluation of risks based on claims experience.
Reporting.
Preparation and communication / presentation of claims statistics / claims topics.
Special tasks (e.g. projects).

University or university of applied sciences degree in insurance, business management or law, or insurance specialist (m/f/d), with focus on marine insurance, or completed apprenticeship in insurance and ideally study program for a Bachelor (B.A./B.Sc.).
Knowledge of the field of Marine Insurance desirable.
Ideally practical professional experience in Claims Management with an insurance carrier or broker or client.
High level of self-motivation, independence, resilience and reliability.
Strong communication skills, convincing intercultural and social competence as well as team-working ability.
High level of decision-making capability and negotiation skills.
Willingness to expand professional and personal competence.
Capability to think and work innovatively and entrepreneurially.
Secure handling of MS-Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Confident appearance in an international environment including very good German and good English skills (business fluent).
