To strengthen our Underwriting Casualty Team, we are looking for at the earliest possible date for our Region Germany at our location in Cologne:
Head of Casualty (m/f/d)
Main tasks
- Technical and disciplinary management of the department with its subordinate employees in Underwriting and Services & Support area.
- Referral-Underwriting within the scope of the powers of attorney.
- Development and implementation of the regional line of business strategy within the overall strategy of the company.
- Participation in the preparation of the business plan (GWP, result, expenses).
- Participation in the redesign of underwriting guidelines, tools, tariffs and conditions for line of business in cooperation with the Corporate Center.
- Management of international insurance programs.
- Procurement and disposition of needs-based facultative reinsurance capacity within the framework of the underwriting process for individual risks.
- Organization, information, communication and training within the scope of professional and disciplinary responsibility.
- Planning, implementation and monitoring of measures and projects within and outside the line of business (e.g. restructuring, treaty conversions, marketing, sales).
- Participation in acquisition planning/measures to create new business and expand portfolio by supporting account managers and underwriters.
- Market management for the own line of business including marketing, public relations and market presence.
- Cross-company activities, e.g. participation in committees, membership in committees etc.).
- Overlapping tasks and special tasks (e.g. project tasks).
Your profile - Professional experience/ personality/ languages/software
- Degree in law or business administration, preferably with specialization in insurance, or comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in personnel management.
- Excellent knowledge of the industrial insurance business and several years of professional experience in the line of business.
- Many years of sales experience and customer orientation.
- Good self-organization as well as high self-motivation and resilience.
- High level of social competence, decisiveness as well as cooperation and team spirit.
- Ability to think and act entrepreneurially, economically and analytically.
- Experience in project work.
- Certain handling of the common MS-Office applications.
- Very good German and English language skills in spoken and written (business fluent).
